Venue
of Experience:
Our experience in rapidly
responding to clients' crisis situations has occurred in North
America and abroad. These events have ranged from time
sensitive intelligence gathering related to terrorist activity, to
managing the front line protection during labor disputes, responding
to product adulteration events and preparing a strategy to end a
lengthy Waco-style siege involving the takeover of a building by
dissidents where many acts of violence were occurring.
Our Methodology:
Each crisis event we have
been involved with has been distinctively different, with the
exception of violent labor disputes. In all cases, however, we
have provided action and/or input based on the variety of our past
experiences. All our clients in this area have felt our
assistance proved to be of great benefit. In some cases, we
have been credited with ending the exposure offered during such an
event. We have no specific methodology in these cases because
each event is comprised of a variety of components that combine to
make each one unique. We have only had the dubious opportunity
of responding to one serious crisis where we had previously prepared
a contingency plan. In that case, while every component of the
plan wasn't specifically applicable, the basics were in place to
insure a rapid structured response. Rather than starting from
scratch, we were able to modify and fine tune the elements of the
contingency plan to suit the specific situation.
Crisis Event Response Requests
We Turn Down:
We do not accept any
consulting requests or similar work, if we believe we are not
capable of providing any real assistance. Since good
intentioned, but naïve recommendations or action, not based on
training or experience could often result in loss of life in these
crisis events, we will not become involved in anything where we do
not feel qualified. In other cases we have turned down such
work, based on inappropriate actions previously taken by the
prospect requesting our services. One such case involved a
prospect's past response to picketers during a labor dispute.
After quickly researching the problem, we decided that our
reputation would suffer by becoming involved in any way with this
business. However, in another case, after consideration, we
did accept a consulting request in a case which the U.S. Government
should have been handling, but had shied away from, due to the
questionable, but unrelated, activities of one of the parties taking
our client's side.
Rapid Response:
Crisis events usually arrive
without notice and we are geared for rapid response. In one
case, a Michigan based consultant en route from Florida to Michigan,
switched planes at a hub and headed to a breaking event in the
West. In another instance, a consultant returning to Michigan
from Great Britain, diverted at the Boston point of entry in and
proceeded on to a Southern state where a crisis was unfolding.
