It's tough to have poor credit, but when there are errors on credit files, consumers can easily have these corrected by contacting the credit bureaus.
Persons who truly have poor credit histories can only repair their credit ratings by demonstrating improved financial responsibility over time. Services which claim they can assist in creating new credit files for consumers with bad credit are offering nothing more than a scam which can cause more serious losses than just the funds paid for this worthless service.
Typically all these services do is advise the consumer to request a tax payer identification through the government for use instead of the consumer's legitimate Social Security number. (These numbers contain the same number of digits as Social Security numbers, but are broken up differently.)
While using this new tax identification number might actually work when applying for credit at some outlets where there are limited controls, each time such an application is made, the consumer is (often unknowingly) committing a serious crime.
This scam might be compared with a person attempting to improve their financial worth and paying a fee for advice, but then just receiving a recommendation that they commence a career in the risky bank robbery profession.
