Venue
of Experience:
Over the years, we have
handled an interesting variety of investigative and security-related
matters in various parts of the country from the border towns of
Nuevo Laredo, Tijuana, Zaragoza, Matamoros and Ciudad Juarez to
major metropolitan centers such as Monterrey, Queretaro,
Guadalajara, and Mexico City. Additionally we have
successfully worked in the more remote regions such as Oaxaca as
well as in the smaller, economically disadvantaged mountain villages
and the casual communities along the banks of Lago Chapala.
Services Available
in Mexico:
We have handled many
security surveys of large manufacturing and warehousing facilities,
as well as office and executive environments in Mexico for U.S.,
French and Mexican companies. Additionally, fraud
investigations and surveillance work in Mexico has generally proven
quite challenging, but ultimately successful. Working with
exceptionally competent Mexican associates--investigative auditors,
CPAs, CFEs, attorneys and public sector sources--Michigan-based
personnel can handle a full range of major investigative projects,
as well as providing security consulting services and security
surveys at all levels. In Mexico, we operate from a base in
Guadaljara in the State of Jalisco doing business as Loss Prevention
Concepts de Mexico.
Please
note we only handle major cases in Mexico. That is, we
do not conduct basic locate services, background investigations,
court checks, asset searches, domestics and the like. At this
time, our minimum rate for any service in Mexico is $7,500.
Incorrect
Perceptions of Mexico:
Most North Americans and
Europeans have an unrealistic and incorrect impression of Mexico,
perhaps derived from old movies or limited visits to border towns or
seaside resorts. Mexicans do not travel by burro, and drinking
the water in the major hotels is as safe as drinking it at
home. Mexican workers do not have a manana mentality, but
instead tend to be dependable, proud and competent workers whose
sense of honor is greatly superior to their other North American
counterparts. Mexico City is not a earthquake ravaged barrio,
but a world class city comparable to London or Paris.
Corruption certainly exists in Mexico, but probably no more than
anywhere else. (Our former Detroit police chief is serving
time for stealing millions in funds targeted for the so-called drug
war--and literally hundreds of U.S. Senators and Representatives
were caught in frauds involving the House Bank Scandal and Post
Office Scandal--but none were even criminally charged.) Unlike
the U.S., violent crime in Mexico is uncommon. Mexico is
different then the U.S. Some things are worse, many things are
much better, but mostly it's just different. We have a basic
understanding of the family-oriented society and an appreciation of
the culture and people. We sincerely enjoy the challenges
offered in this unique country and the lasting friendships we have
developed with Mexicans from all social classes.
