In one case, a professional claimant entered a Detroit area party/convenience store. He stopped at the soap display out of sight of the clerk, opened a bottle of dishwashing liquid and spilled it on the floor. He then circled the aisle, approached the now slippery area of the floor and executed a fall worthy of an academy award nomination. An ambulance was called and he filed suit for a back injury. In this case, the videotape of the entire sequence of events proved invaluable.
There are many competent investigative services and reputable vendors of security products in Michigan. However, there are also many inexperienced operators and vendors of low-cost devices which provide questionable protection. In security, as in most other fields, you generally get what you pay for.
